Refractaria develops nanotechnology-based concrete to replace electrofused materials

Refractaria, in its continuous commitment to innovation and the development of innovative products capable of responding to the changing needs of its customers, has carried out a new project: · IDE-2018-000477: Refractaria develops nanotechnology-based concrete to replace electrofused materials. The objective of the project is to modify the refractory concrete matrix to reduce its porosity to values ??similar to those of the electrofused materials and although the developed concretes do not reach the levels of porosity of the electrofused ones, their level of porosity allows them to replace the electrofused in certain applications with good performance and offering a better quality/price ratio. Its duration will be from August 2018 to November 2020. This project has received co-financing, both from the Government of the Principality of Asturias through IDEPA and the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (PCTI) 2018-2022, and from the European Union through the FEDER.


Refractaria is investigating techniques for the reuse of refractories derived from the demolition of linings from the cement and glass industries.
