Refractaria researches refractory materials for use in hydrogen applications.
Refractaria continues to invest in research and development (R&D) and has launched the IDE-2023-000575 research project, focusing on refractories for applications involving the use of hydrogen as a fuel. Hydrogen is an alternative to fossil fuels because its combustion does not emit greenhouse gases. However, it places greater demands on refractory materials. El objetivo de este proyecto fue investigar refractarios capaces de soportar las solicitaciones que implica el empleo de hidrógeno como combustible y se han logrado materiales con resultados excepcionales. This project has received co-financing from the Government of the Principality of Asturias, via AGENCIA SEKUENS, and the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (PCTI) for the period 2018–2022. It has also received funding from the European Union, via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
